Picture this: Last night, around 8 pm, we had just finished dinner and I was just about to go to the bathroom when....WHAM!!! A tremendous jolt (I do live in Southern California, Earthquake Central, so...)! It was very fast but very hard, but it was only a magnitude 3.4. Why? How could this have felt so severe if it was only a 3.4. Well, we live in this small town by the beach in L.A., sandwiched between all the other big coastal cities, and on the news it said the quake struck 1 mile northwest of our little town. Our town was the EPICENTER!!!! I've been in quakes that were centered 60 miles away that were 5.0 magnitude, maybe, with just as much severity, but OUR LITTLE TOWN WAS THE EPICENTER!!!! Well, at least surfers will like it (it was in the ocean, so it'll probably kick up big waves). bUT SOMETHING EVEN STRANGER, this was the second considerably noticeable quake in the L.A. Metro area in 14 days...makes you wonder if these are aftershocks of the Northridge Earthquake 14 years ago (apparently aftershocks can last that long) or beforeshocks of an even bigger quake. Let's hope it's the former. I have no idea why I told you all that, but I did.

OMG! I've never been in an earthquake, but before I moved to Kent, there was an earthquake there.

Where in England is Kent? I have great knowledge of U.S. geography but my knowledge of British geography is horrible.

Well I live in Dover to be precise, which is South-East of the UK, and very near France.
